Woodland Trust hedge planted by local school children

On Friday 23 November we welcomed children from St Nicholas Primary School in Harpenden to the farm to plant a hedge donated by the Woodland Trust.

The children from 4 to 11 years old have been working on a project about trees and asked if they could plant a hedge here to attract wildlife. The young hedge plants have been planted along the footpath so that as the hedge grows it can be enjoyed by walkers and the children will visit from time to time to see its progress. They planted 100 plants in total which will mature into a lovely mixed hedge.

We are very grateful to the Woodland Trust and really enjoyed meeting the children, welcoming them to our farm and working with them on this project.
